We're Expecting!

Welcome to the Farm Miss Melanie!  She is
with baby, and "yes" that means in the
spring we will welcome her foal...We are
beside ourselves with excitement!
Will it be a baby jack or a baby jenny?

A Prayer for Hank and Patti

Our friend Hank will be going in the hospital for surgery
on Monday, October 29, 2012.    He suffered a knee injury and
until he is fully recovered, he is in a wheelchair, instead of on
horseback, in the saddle, riding the trails he loves.    Please
remember him in your prayers...Pray that the surgery goes off
without a hitch and that his recovery is as fast as his horse!

Patti  is doing all the  chores,  caring for the
animals  on  the  farm,  and  taking  care   of
Hank  while he is recovering from  surgery.

Back in the Saddle Again

I`m back in the saddle again
Out where a friend is a friend
Where the longhorn cattle feed
On the lowly gypsum weed
Back in the saddle again

Ridin` the range once more
Totin` my old .44
Where you sleep out every night
And the only law is right
Back in the saddle again

Whoopi-ty-aye-oh
Rockin` to and fro
Back in the saddle again
Whoopi-ty-aye-yay
I go my way
Back in the saddle again

What did the doctor say when a mini came
in complaining about a sore throat?
"I know what's wrong here;
you're just a little hoarse!"

Coffee Discovered by a GOAT?

Yup you heard right, coffee was first discovered by a goat! The myth is a young Ethiopian goat herder by the name of Kaldi in the 9th-century noticed his goats acting strange, that they became more energetic, and began to dance when they ate the cherries from the coffee tree, so he tried it for himself. His exhilaration prompted him to bring the berries to a holy man in a nearby monastery, but the holy man disapproved of their use and threw them into a fire, from which an enticing aroma billowed. The roasted beans were quickly raked from the embers, ground up, and dissolved in hot water, yielding the world's first cup of coffee.

The Country Visits the City!

Most people come to visit in cars or trucks, but
some people  saddle up and visit on horseback!

Hank and Katerina

Gypsy

Splash is happy to rest in the shade with Patti, his driver.

James makes sure that Splash gets a snack before moving on...

Katerina riding Lucy!

Hey, there is a cowboy and a horse out on the lawn.

Patti skillfully drives Splash down our
steep driveway...

He runs on a pellets, hay, and lots of TLC!

 Thank for stopping by friends...
