Alien Goats?

Alien goats have invaded at
 Gillis Hill Farm...
The LaManchas are here!

The extraterrestrial goat, Phantom,
visits one of the goats in the barn
collecting  information  for  the  alien  herd
 in the goat ship
hovering  over  the  barn on the farm.

Who is this strange white goat in the barn with me?
And, where did he come from?

<3 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<3

No, they are not alien goats, they are LaMancha goats, loving,
sweet-tempered, and very gentle dairy goats.  So, where are the LaMancha's ears?   LaMancha's are noted for their apparent lack of, or much reduced,
external ears called gopher or elf ears.

Diva,  a  female  extraterrestrial goat
decides to try the earth goats food.

<3~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<3

Diva has gopher ears.

Phantom looks on as Queen to be Kate is being milked
on an unusual contraption called a milking stand.
Strange for Phantom, because
where he comes from, does in milk levitate as they are
being milked.  Phantom is happy he is not an earth goat!

Earth goats are so Old Fashion!

Beam me up Capricornus!

LaMancha goats are also known for their
high milk production, and the comparatively
high   butterfat   content   in   their   milk.

Is she a Goat or a Dog? Whatever she is, she's got a little thing called SWAG!

Let's go for a walk...

I know, I am a goat, not a dog, but I love walks.
You get dressed up, they put  on fancy stuff
and everyone  admires me.  People go crazy
when they  find  out  I'm  a  goat,  not  a  dog!

Yes, I could get used to being a goat-dog,
dog-goat, whatever they want to call me...

I just love, the love, and all the attention
I  get  on the  block...They  say,
I've  got  a thing  called  swag,
and  swag is  good  for  me!

Kid's Play

Who can see the goat kids play
Running and leaping for glee all day
And not feel a little younger too,
Frolicking like the goat kids do?

First Freshener

Fiona, a feisty little goat visiting our farm from End-O-Way Farm.  She is a Nigerian Dwarf dairy goat and a first freshener who came to teach me a thing a two about milking a goat!  Together we are learning!  She is learning how to stand still on the milk stand, and me, I am learning how to milk a kicking crazy dwarf goat that knows how to bust a move when I am trying to milk her.  She is pretending to be innocent and sweet looking  in this picture.

Fresh Goats Milk

Karen Stanger from End-O-Way Farm  gave Katerina, Mylena, and I  hand milking lessons and then we were on our own...This is the result!  Not bad for first time hand milking maidens Katerina and Mylena!    Poor Ellie, she did not eat on the stand, she kept bleating, and looking back at us.  On Karen's farm, all her goats stood on the stand and ate, no bleating!   I know we were not doing everything right on our own, but we did have fun doing it!  Poor Ellie will have to endure until the girls get the hang of hand milking a goat.

Lucy Lockett, a Miniature Fainting Goat that Thinks She is a Cowgirl!

Lucy Locket, the Cowgoat!

Have  you   ever  heard  of a goat  that  likes to ride  horses?
Meet  Lucy Locket,  a  geninue  cowgirl,  the  only  problem,
she  is a goat, but is that really  a problem  for  Lucy Locket?
No, here she is with Katerina riding on a horse and loving it!

It seems she has to whisper
in Katerina's ear
where she wants to go, and then,
she can't wait to get  there.

"Giddy-up Go" as she eagerly looks
out from between the horses ears at the
 countryside that beakons her.
Lucy Locket is always up to something
here on Gillis Hill Farm and we can
always count on her  for a fun,
 adventurous kinda day.

Let's Giddy-Up Go Miss Kitty!

Frolicking Goat Kids!

The baby Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats, just a few days old, are already frolicking about in their stall.  Mama Ellie just looks on, amazed at what her kids are able to do in just days after being born, not months, like human babies.  Climbing, running, jumping...leaping like lambs!

What is a Girl to Do? FAINT!

Lucy Locket heard that there are now two little baby goats on the farm, besides she and Linus, vying for everyone's attention...What is a girl to do? FAINT thought Lucy...Now that is something those dairy goat babies cannot do, and Linus and I can! We're back in the spotlight with this little trick thought Lucy!  I must run and tell Linus, but before she could tell Linus of her scheme, she FAINTED!
